| Materials | Maple, Bubinga |
| Description |
Winner of People's Choice Award in the 2004 Northern Woods Exhibition. Featured in the December 2004 issue of 'Woodwork' magazine. The Rubicon is the second in a series of cellarettes. This buffet will accommodate one case of wine, a variety of teas, and provide space for wine glasses, tea china, and other sundries. Two mirror image Bubinga cabinets with variably spaced dovetail joinery rest side by side in a Maple saber leg frame, which features wedged through-tenon joinery. The cabinet doors feature constrasting recessed pulls and use copper foiled water glass to create an ivy vine design. The two cabinet interiors feature wine racking, five tea bins, glass china display, a removable serving tray and five storage drawers. The ivy vine theme is repeated in the carved tea bins and drawer fronts. The lower shelf, door pulls and serving tray employ chemical copper patination.
