Tom Schrunk has been doing veneer work for 15 years, and has work which has found clients in three continents, including one president and the Prince and Princess of Jodhpur (India). He has three times been awarded commissions for the prestigious Art Case Piano program by Steinway & Sons, who describe his first piano as "inspired design" and second as an "artistic masterpiece". They also use the word "genius" in their description of him, a word which shows up in other references, on the web and elsewhere. His work on the third Art Case Piano (below) is perhaps the most complex work of bookmatched burl work done to date, anywhere. He is considered one of the foremost veneer artists in the US.
